Last week, a record-breaking 750-plus members and supporters gathered together to Aspire to greatness—in professionalism, innovation, service and care.
We Took a Deep Dive into Quality Care
Whether we were learning how to lead our team to excellence in Transforming What We Learn Into How We Lead or how to help our residents experience quality at the end of life in Conscious Dying: Candid Conversations, Critical Considerations, Monday’s intensive sessions gave us a deeper understanding of two critical components of providing quality care.
We Explored a Roadmap to the Future
Where are we going…both as professionals and as a model of care? During Monday’s keynote session, Leading Ahead of the Curve, Robert Tucker outlined a roadmap for business leaders who want to drive organic growth, differentiate products and services, and thrive amidst the chaos of industry disruption.
We Optimized Our Resident Experience
Assisted Living is all about serving the needs of the individual, and many of the concurrent sessions reflected that mission. From sessions on innovative dining experiences and exercises for Parkinson’s disease, to those that helped us understand the latest science behind dementia care and lighting for wellness, Tuesday and Wednesday were all about creating an optimal experience for each resident.
We Welcomed Student Leaders
We were so excited to have 24 recipients of CALA’s student scholarship joining us at the Conference & Trade Show. These student leaders, representing universities in both northern and southern California, were able to take advantage of the many educational and networking opportunities offered and learn more about Assisted Living as an exciting career option.
We Built Relationships and Networks
Whether we were networking with colleagues and exhibitors at the Wine Tasting and Trade Show Lunch, building connections during the educational sessions, or descending below the streets of Sacramento to dine together Tuesday night, we seized every opportunity to grow and strengthen our community of dedicated, caring Assisted Living professionals, and carry this aspirational spirit back to our communities and our residents.
