What does it mean to be Inspired? This week, more than 600 attendees found out when they gathered at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara for CALA’s 2014 Spring Conference & Trade Show to share the latest in senior housing and care. For those of you who were unable to attend, here’s a sampling…a small taste of the many thought-provoking and exciting moments at this year’s event.
That was the theme of Monday’s intensive sessions. Whether attendees were learning about how life enrichment programs can positively affect current and prospective residents or how to create an inclusive environment for the culturally and generationally diverse world of an Assisted Living community, they left with tools and strategies for improving residents’ and employees’ quality of life.
Becoming a Service Superstar
What is the definition of “world-class customer service,” and what differentiates the companies that provide it? Monday’s keynote speaker Bryan Williams revealed this to attendees, along with six habits which can lead to stellar service.
Welcoming Student Leaders
We were excited to have 10 recipients of CALA’s student scholarship attending the Conference & Trade Show. These student leaders, representing four universities, were able to take advantage of the many educational and networking opportunities offered, and learned more about Assisted Living as an exciting career option.
Something for Everyone
The 23 concurrent sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday offered something for everyone, from dementia care and activities to the latest on the Accountable Care Act. Attendees who were interested in marketing, leadership, or legal issues had plenty to choose from as well.
Fun and Games
Have you ever watched Hollywood Game NightTM? Thought you “coulda been a contender”? Attendees who joined us at the CALA Cocktail Party on Tuesday night had a chance to compete in CALA’s version of Hollywood Game NightTM. There was plenty of laughter to go around!
Thank you to all who joined us in Santa Clara!
CALA members and supporters have just spent three days being Inspired by the latest innovations and best practices in Assisted Living. Taking time from day-to-day responsibilities to attend the conference demonstrates your commitment to yourself, your company, and your residents. By gathering together to share ideas and learn from one another, CALA members return home with new tools and strategies to usher in the next chapter of Assisted Living in California.
