Do you have residents or staff members who are women veterans? Inform them that they can participate in the California Women Veterans Survey. Coordinated by the California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls, the California Research Bureau, and the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet), this survey provides a secure and anonymous way for women veterans to share their stories, experiences, and concerns, and to help improve public policy and services.
According to Pouneh Simpson, the CFO of California Veteran Homes, a CALA member, it’s important to hear from residents about their experiences:
Until recently the female roles in the military were nurses and auxiliary services. Often times the older generation of female veterans are overlooked and not included in studies data gathering or report. This survey will enable us to get data from these amazing national heroes and serve them better.
All California women who have served, or are serving, in the U.S. Military are invited to take the survey online. Women without internet access may request a postage paid return copy of the survey by calling 916-651-5405 or emailing email@example.com.
