CALA Welcomes New Associate Director of Public Policy

CALALogoOur team is growing! Megan Hackard Geremia has joined the California Assisted Living Association (CALA) in the new position of Associate Director of Public Policy. “We are thrilled Megan will be joining CALA to provide additional resources to our growing membership,” says Sally Michael, CALA’s President. “Megan joins a strong policy team led by Heather Harrison, CALA’s VP of Public Policy and Public Affairs.”

Most recently, Geremia was a Legislative Assistant with Aprea & Michelli, Inc. in Sacramento. Prior to that, she worked in several capacities in the California State Senate over a period of five years. Geremia graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2006.

In the new position, Geremia will assist CALA in furthering its public policy and advocacy objectives and initiatives through research, policy development and member communication. The position will provide compliance support to all of CALA’s non-profit and for-profit members. Sally Michael says, “With this addition to the team, CALA will continue to expand our reach in the areas of advocacy and public policy, which is key to ensuring that CALA members remain at the forefront of providing quality care to California’s seniors.”
