Whether it’s “Home for the Holidays” or “Let it Snow,” carols are heard everywhere this time of year: on the radio, in the mall, even while grocery shopping. Depending on how you feel about holiday music, your reaction may be one of pleasure or annoyance. But we can all agree that the voices of The Unforgettables, a chorus of those with dementia and their caregivers, fill us all with the joy of the season. According to a recent article in the New York Daily News, the group of 24 is getting ready for their holiday concert in Manhattan; the practice time, says one singer, is “sheer joy…and pleasure.”
What are your favorite sounds of the season? How are those in your community celebrating the holidays?
